October and November are wonderful months for weddings in the Washington, D.C. area and Sugarplum Tent Company was busy supporting many brides and grooms this Fall. For one family in Virginia, the symbolism and beauty of roses served to enhance the elegance and love surrounding their daughter’s wedding.
Roses, (all 150 or more species!) are thought to be 35 million years old. Traditional white roses symbolize purity and innocence and are popular for weddings. During the days before the wedding while Sugarplum staff installed a clear structure tent, the mother of the bride—an avid gardener–lovingly selected and arranged all the tall white roses for the floral displays on each table. Talk about a labor of love!
The tent was floored, carpeted, fully heated and featured starlight effect lighting high above the guests. To capture the beauty of each centerpiece, Sugarplum added pinspot lighting from the tent rafters. The pinspots were focused on each of the majestic displays.
The clear-top main reception tent was connected to another clear structure tent that spanned the expansive deck. This lounge area/dance tent covered a large stage and richly polished teak dance floor and was adjacent to the home.
A generator (super-quiet special event generator!), and an elegant restroom trailer were located in the nearby driveway. As the sun set on a beautiful October evening, the tents sparkled as dramatically as the crystal champagne flutes. The sophisticated dinner was served by Design Cuisine, led by the professionalism and attention-to-detail of Dede Byrnes. Sugarplum Tent Company was pleased to have supported this important event and thanks the clients and other event professionals who participated.
